Agencies track elk brucellosis

Wildlife managers are hoping to get a better grasp on how frequently and where elk spread Brucellosis.

Experts say the disease can cause elk, bison and cattle to abort their young.

Over a period of five years, officials with Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks, the Montana Department of Livestock and the Animal and Plant Health Impact Service will study elk movement just beyond the greater Yellowstone area.
